Dear Parents,
Last week we participated in our Opening School Mass. During this Mass, we inducted our School Leaders, Mia Barnes, Nick Maslen, Peta Pettge, Xanthe Fenning and blessed our students and community for the 2022 School Year. Thank you to those who were able to join us, to Father Terry and Mr McCann for organising.
Congratulations to our Swimming Team of Mia Barnes, Molly Paynter, Rory Ashby and Xanthe Fenning, who competed at the New South Wales Catholic Schools Polding Swimming Championships, representing our school, the Manning Region and the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle in the Mixed 4x50 Peter Dobson Relay at the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre on Tuesday 22nd March. The students represented our school and Diocese with pride and did an outstanding job. We are very proud of them. Many thanks to their parents and families who supported them.
We wish Miss Gooch all the very best with her upcoming wedding. Miss Gooch will be taking leave the final week of school during this exciting time. Mrs Mowbray will be replacing Miss Gooch at this time.
During the next two weeks; 28th to the 8th April I will be taking Long Service Leave. Mr McCann will be Acting Principal during this period. I am looking forward to spending some time with my family. During this time we will also have Mr Crowe on staff at school. I thank Mr McCann for taking on this role during this time.
Peace and Best wishes,
Amy Maslen
Principal
As the season of Lent continues in our Church, the students have been studying the lives on some people around our own country and overseas whose lives are not as fortunate as our own. The students have been learning a little bit about each country and the struggles that people encounter in the these countries. It is a reminder to our students why we try to raise some money during this season of Lent. We encourage the students to contine to put spare change into their Project Comapssion boxes to raise some much needed money for some of the most vulnerable people in our world. We will have a day in our last week of term to return these boxes.
The following attachment highlights some of the stories of individual people that the students have been learning about the past few weeks.
On Tuesday, Xanthe Fenning, Molly Paynter, Rory Ashby and Mia Barnes represented our school at the Polding Swimming Carnival in Sydney. While the whole school watched via the Live Streaming of the event, these four students gave it their all and once again, made us all so very proud of them. It was fantastic to see our students competing at such a high level and demonstrating such fantastic sportmanship and determination. Congratulations to you all!
