Dear Parents & Carers,
A big welcome to the Carmody family who have joined us last week. We welcome Deacon & Mattea (Year 4) and Storm (Year 1) to St. Joseph's along with their family. We trust that the Carmody family will enjoy their time at St. Joseph's.
It is exciting to have the next section of the playground completed and open. The new sandpit and chalk board area, dry creek bed and bridges have been open for students to play in. The main playground has been seeded and we anticipate that this will be open when school resumes in Term 4.
Our school NAPLAN results were sent home last week to Year 5 and Year 3 parents. Unfortunately,- due to the fact that NAPLAN was not run in 2020, we have no growth data for our Year 5 students. As a school we will look closely at the collective data as this will help to drive school initiatives and focus areas for school improvement and staff development moving forward. It is important that we note that this is a “point in time” assessment and if parents wish to seek more information about how their child is going academically, they are encouraged to contact their child’s teacher. Our next parent teacher interviews will be in Week 6, Term 4.
We congratulate Mrs West on her pregnancy. It is a very exciting time for Casey and husband Nick. We wish Casey & Nick all the best with the birth of their first child. Mrs West position is being advertised for 2023. Next term, Mrs Moore will be taking leave from her position in the office. Mrs White and Mrs Shultz will be replacing Mrs Moore in the office during Term 4. All other staffing, at this stage, remains the same for 2023.
Term 4 commences on Monday 10th October. Students return in summer uniform. Please ensure all students have a hat and water. Sunscreen is available at school and students are encouraged to apply when appropriate.
I wish all of our families and staff a wonderful holiday break.
Peace & Best Wishes,
Amy Maslen
Principal

Parents will be given the opportunity to participate in this survey, Tell The From Me. The survey takes approximately 15–20 minutes to complete.
As parents and carers of students in our school, we deeply value your feedback and encourage you to partner with us and complete this survey. The information we gather is critical to us and allows us to hear directly from you and gain insight into what you think is important about the work we do, how we communicate with you and where you think we need to improve.
Our school use the feedback you provide us to action strategies for improvement.
We want all (children/young people) in our school to thrive and we know that working together, listening and sharing ideas helps all students.
Please follow this link to complete the survey http://tellthemfromme.com/9pr68
The survey is now open. If you have questions about this survey, please don’t hesitate to contact us via admin@gloucester.catholic.edu.au
