All of our students have settled into well to school routines. Our Kindergarten students have been very involved and engaged in Successful Foundations; play through different 'provocations' or activities.
Ash Wednesday, 14th February, marked the beginning of Lent. Lent is the period of six weeks leading up until Easter and the most important festival in the Christian calendar. In Lent, we acknowledge the ways we have turned away from God in our lives and we focus on turning our hearts and minds back towards God.
Thank you to Father Terry, Mr McCann and all involved in our Opening School Mass. Our Year 6 Leaders; Miley Baker, Harry Briggs, Deacon Carmody, Mattea Carmody, Isabella Cawthorne, Lola Forbes-Collins, Sienna Forbes, Clarry Fulton and Lillie-Maii Smith were inducted and received their leadership badges. The leaders carry out important duties throughout the year including running assemblies, representing the school and supporting Kindergarten buddies.
In 2024, St Joseph's target for attendance is 95%. Regular attendance at school is essential for students to achieve quality life outcomes. Everyday counts, as regular attendance helps students, develop a sense of belonging, develop and maintain friendships, be more engaged at school, progress with their learning, be more aware of career and life options.
Warm regards,
Amy Maslen
