K/1 News
For History this term, K/1 have been learning about the past and how we can learn about specific parts of the past by listening to stories, visiting special places and by looking at photographs. We explored how photographs have changed over the years and how it is much easier to take a quick snap today opposed to taking photos in the past. We looked at some images of Aboriginal Shelters and Early Settler Huts from the past. We discussed their different structural features and why they may have been included. The children then set out to design and build their own fantastic shelters. The students did an amazing job at designing their shelters and they quickly discovered that by working together, the task of builing a shelter can be much, much easier!
