Principal's Report
Dear Parents & Carers,
We are just about at the end of Term 2. I would like to thank our staff, students and parents during the last 10 weeks as we have worked hard and continued to support students reach their learning goals. Semester 1 Reports have been released on Compass. Parent teacher interviews will be held again in Week 6 of Term 3. Students have worked very hard at St. Joseph's and they are to be congratulated, looking at many of their results.
National NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia in the first week of July each year to recognise the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander. The theme this year is Get Up! Stand Up! Show Up! This week we celebrated NAIDOC by holding a morning of activities including painiting, a whole school mural, sharing indigenous books and a sausage sizzle. Thank you Mrs Middlebrook and staff for organising.
Tomorrow, Thursday 30th June, staff and teachers wil be participating in planned stop work industrial action. Minimal supervision will be available tomorrow with no classes or lessons taught. Families are asked to make other arrangements where possible.
Friday will be a Pupil Free Day as Manning schools staff join in Forster for a Professionall Develpoment Day.
Thank you for your support this term. We hope that all of our families have a relaxing break and we return ready for school on Monday 18th July, Term 3.
Kind regards,
Amy Maslen
